God bless America, is the one famous one liner used in most of the Hollywood thriller film. Well, why not; America is one of the beautiful country and we all love America and just waiting to celebrate its Independence Day on 4 July. We all have studied in history about American Revolution and those books made us believe that the America’s Independence Day is on 4 July but, history is written by winners and the authentication is really a big question. John Adams, who was the second president of America and a prominent leader who play significant role in the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain, had confounding perception and theory regarding the dates of America’s Independence Day. The letter written by him proves it.

The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.

It was on July 2, 1776, that second continental congress meeting in Philadelphia voted to approve Independence put forth by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. Out of 13 colonies, twelve colonies approved it, while New York was not allowed at that time. Later that day the Pennsylvania Evening Post published “This day the Continental Congress declared the United Colonies Free and Independent States.”

Well, why do Americans celebrate it on July 4 and there are numerous answers to it but, the authentication is still a big question and the suspense of the dates remain unanswered after john Adams died on July 4, 1826.
