ROSSY Lyon's Dockers are getting back to former days, resurgent Sydney are dead set on vengeance and even poor old Melbourne hasn't turned it up this year.

Every one of them are surpassed by the Western Bulldogs as the current year's best story - a staggering change from 2014 maniac into the alliance's must-watch group.

Luke Beveridge's Dogs didn't simply outlive unbeaten Adelaide, they obliterated them then supported over them again only for no particular reason.

In Round 23 last year as the Dogs were irritated with the Giants, Jake Stringer was the image of their clumsiness, the promising forward's late dropped imprint an amusement executioner.

At that point the Dogs lost their commander, their Brownlow Medallist, their mentor, their CEO, and apparently all trust.

Stringer essentially did however he wanted a profession best six-objective pull that blended savage force and one-snatch overhead checking.

Quite a long time ago a breakout execution from a skilled child was a decent day at the footy for Bulldogs fans so used to agony and dissatisfaction.

Rather in a 57-point win that demonstrated a savage rude awakening for the Crows, Beveridge's Bulldogs had adolescents pulverizing their rival on pretty much every line.

Tom Boyd kicked two objectives on Daniel Talia, Lin Jong is a plane, protector Lucas Webb is a delight who just always gets where the football is.

Michael Talia viably covered Taylor Walker, Ayce Cordy attempted his guts out on Sam Jacobs, and we haven't even said The Bont yet.
