Neither downpour nor dread danger ceased Victorians turning out in record numbers to recall penances made in wars at Anzac Day century recognitions.

In a show of solidarity taking after a thwarted dread plot went for Anzac Day, around 100,000 individuals crouched under umbrellas in the crisp sunrise at Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance.

Some, as Craig King and his child Ryan, stayed outdoors from 1am to be at their third sunrise administration.

"I believe its important to the point that we demonstrate our appreciation," Ryan said.

Some were there to pay regards by and large, others were regarding relatives, and triple the standard number of police were there recalling their fallen and keeping general society safe.

Sanctum of Remembrance CEO Denis Baguley said the group demonstrated Victorians would not offer into dangers.

"There was dependably a worry (of terrorism), particularly with the first light administration where individuals touch base oblivious," he said.

The group heard Afghanistan veteran, Lieutenant Colonel Kahlil Fegan, discuss the soul of mettle, appreciation, larrikinism and mateship that make Anzac troops exceptional.

"What I've seen I can just portray as a sign of a soul ... the same soul that drove the first Anzacs off the pontoons and onto the shorelines as of now 100 years prior," he said.

The downpour continued falling amid the parade, as no less than 20,000 serving and resigned warriors, and band and relatives, walked in parade towards the Shrine of Remembrance.

"It was most likely the greatest parade walk I've seen in around 15 years of doing this employment," Senior Marshall, Major Peter McCrossin told AAP.
