Sweet Briar College Closed due to Financial Crisis




Sweet Briar's governing body voted to close the 114-year-old private liberal expressions school in August as a result of "inconceivable monetary difficulties." The consistent vote occurred Feb. 28; the board declared its choice in a news discharge Tuesday.

A ladies' liberal expressions school in Virginia declared Tuesday that the spring 2015 semester would be its lastódespite the fact that the school still has a $94 million enrichment.

Sweet Briar College, spotted close Lynchberg, Virginia, will close "as an aftereffect of inconceivable monetary difficulties," the school said in a press discharge.

Sweet Briar heads refered to a few patterns that educated the choice to close, including the declining number of female understudies intrigued by ladies just schools and the lessening number of understudies general inspired by little, country liberal expressions universities.

"It's so dismal," to think about a place that feels like a second home not existing any more, said Katie Craig, president of the understudy government.
