Asian equity markets rose for a third session on Wednesday ahead of key risk events in the United States.

China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.43 percent or 9.40 points at 2,192.59. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 1.05 percent or 257.66 points at 24,898.19.

Japan’s Nikkei was up 0.16 percent or 25.73 points at 15,643.80. Singapore’s Straits Times was flat at 3,354.35.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite was up 0.70 percent or 14.45 points at 2,076.42. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted added 0.55 percent or 51.93 points at 9,443.81.
 
Asian equities were mixed on Thursday following robust US economic data and as investors braced for Argentina to default on its debt for the second time in twelve years.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite declined 3.50 points to 2,177.74 while Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng rose 5.20 points to 24,737.41 and Japan%u2019s Nikkei 225 Average advanced 72.17 points to 15,718.40, at 7:55 hours IST.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times rose 17.11 points to 0.51 percent to 3,370.76 whereas South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was down 3.06 points to 2,079.55 and Taiwan Weighted lost 94.49 points or 1 percent to 9,352.53.
 
Asian equity markets were trading lower on Friday. Straits Times and Taiwan Weighted were down 0.7 percent.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng plunged 0.49 percent or 122.51 points at 24,634.34. Japan%u2019s Nikkei slipped 0.29 percent or 45.90 points at 15,574.87.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times shed 0.75 percent or 25.17 points at 3,348.89. South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite was down 0.14 percent or 2.92 points at 2,073.20.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted declined 0.77 percent or 71.74 points at 9,244.11. China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,203.10.
