Asian shares were mostly higher on Friday, taking their cues from a record finish on Wall Street overnight after US economic data continued to show a gradual improvement.
China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.22 percent or 4.79 points at 2,200.98.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.68 percent or 160.91 points at 23,741.20.
Japan’s Nikkei added 1.12 percent or 172.07 points at 15,537.67.
Singapore’s Straits Times was down 0.14 percent or 4.46 points at 3,167.92.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite rose 0.28 percent or 5.52 points at 1,999.30.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.13 percent or 10.35 points at 8,109.80.
