Project Topic - Application of Ethics in Business

Area - General Management

Project Brief Info -
In today‘s era people are becoming materialistic, considering their own self and trying to get successes through any mean, the ethics that has to be followed by one is nowhere in the current scenario. Ethics is not given much importance. People want to get their work done without following ethics. Now-a-days ethics have last place whether it is related to one‘s life or business.
People are losing confidence day by day towards business the current business the current scam which is occurring demoralized people from ethical point. To gain the confidence of the people, the business firms need to follow ethics in all their business activities.
Following ethics in business will improve the corporate image of the firm. Being ethical will also improve the overall environment of the business firm. Good business ethics can be an instant recipe for a successful business. We cannot have a successful business if we take advantage of people. Maybe for a short time, but not in the long run. Hence it is necessary to treat everyone with respect, adopt ethics in all activities of business and wait and enjoy the profits and advantages of it.
A business cannot continue to prosper without an ethical base. A few successes can be coincidences or flukes but persistent success can only be a result of a strong foundation of ethics. Lowered trust among investors can devastate a company‘s ability to attract support for growth.

Project Topic - Building Corporate Image

Area - Marketing

Project Brief Info -
Corporate Image is one of the most important aspects of Public Relations for growth and sustenance of the corporate sector. Infact, it is the most essential part of the corporate growth.
The objective is to find out the initiatives taken by a firm to build a good corporate image and how it is perceived by the public.
I have chosen LIC because it is the most suitable example for building corporate image. Insurance sector is the most upcoming entity in today‘s market scenario. A lot of private foreign companies have entered this sector. LIC is still enjoying its market leadership; this is the reason why I chose LIC as an example.

Project Topic - Customer Relationship Management

Area - Marketing

Project Brief Info -
The Customer is King! This credo is more powerful, relevant and true today than ever before. In a truly customer driven economy, success depends on a company's ability to be with the customer on a round the clock basis… satisfying all their product and service specific needs. Simply stated, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is about finding, getting, and retaining customers.
Customer Relationship Management is one of the hottest and most talked about topics in the industry today and for good reason. Industry analysts recently reported that CRM expenditures will grow from $2.8 billion in 1999 to $11 billion by 2003.

Project Topic - Customer Satisfaction towards Shopping Malls in Mumbai

Area - Marketing

Project Brief Info -
The objective of the research is to know the behavior, perception attitude & knowledge towards retail shops in malls and what should be modification and ideal media for advertising of the malls.

The Indian consumer today is highly aware about the product, price, quality and the options available with him. The purchasing is done by keeping all these factors in mind. Today, price is not the only consideration as it was a few years back when prices played a major role in purchasing. Marketers are trying hard to capture this ever increasing Indian middle class as they form the bulk of Indian consumers.

Project Topic - THE STUDY OF ETHICS IN HUMAN RESOURCE
MANAGEMENT

Area - Human Resource Management

Project Brief Info -
The topic of ethic has acquired hitherto unknown significance today because of several example of unethical behavior on the part of the organization, like unfair practice and employees falling to keep up the minimum productivity and output expected of them. News and newspaper, on an almost daily basis, provide us with information on the failure of individual and /or organization to live up to the expected level of the ethics and morality. Cases like Enron and Harshad Mehta are two of the better known incident of the rampant corruption and unethical behavior that has affected the lives of so many people.

Ethics is human value, like any other. Individuals look for opportunity to be ethical in their Conduct because society approves of it. Ethics as a value provides credibility, recognition, and a sense of self enhancement. People often stands up to face harsh consequences because they are not willing to make compromise with the ethical code of conduct that they cherish and value so much.

Project Topic - History of Indian Brands

Area - Marketing

Project Brief Info -
Brands are a means of differentiating a company’s products and services from those of its competitors.
There is plenty of evidence to prove that customers will pay a substantial price premium for a good brand and remain loyal to that brand. It is important, therefore, to understand what brands are and why they are important.
Interbrand - a leading branding consultancy - defines a brand in this way:
“A mixture of tangible and intangible attributes symbolized in a trademark, which, if properly managed, creates influence and generates value”.
The word brand began simply as a way to tell one person's cattle from another by means of a hot iron stamp.
A brand is the personality of a product, service or company and how it relates to key constituencies: Customers, Staff, Partners, and Investors etc.
Charles Darwin’s controversial theory on the survival of the fittest is relevant to the corporate world as it is to the animal kingdom. Only those companies and brands that can stand up to the competition or are canny enough to adapt to change are able to conquer the market place: other end up the way the dinosaurs did.
This project report covers the up & down that Indian brands have faced over the years. The study is substituted by the present top brands and few case-studies, which are helpful in understanding the Indian branding.

Project Topic - Inventory Management in FMCG

Area - Operations

Project Brief Info
-
Every organization needs inventory for smooth running of its activities. It serves as a link between production and distribution processes. The investment in inventories constitutes the most significant part of current assets/working capital in most of the undertakings. Thus, it is very essential to have proper control and management of inventories. The purpose of inventory management is to ensure availability of materials in sufficient quantity as and when required and also to minimise investment in inventories. Raw materials, goods in process and finished goods all represent various forms of inventory. Each type represents money tied up until the inventory leaves the company as purchased products. Because of the large size of the inventories maintained by firms, a considerable amount of funds is required to be committed to them. It is therefore absolutely imperative to manage inventories efficiently and effectively in order to avoid unnecessary investments. A firm neglecting the management of inventories will be jeopardizing its long run profitability and may fail ultimately. The reduction in excessive inventories carries a favorable impact on the company’s profitability.

The study starts with an introduction to inventory management, Company’s profile, its Vision & Mission, Achievements and also the need for study, review of literature and objectives are set out for the study. Research methodology, Data analysis & Interpretation, Findings and Suggestions of the study follow.

One of the main areas of the project is the analysis part, where the data are analysed & interpreted, to find out how the inventories were managed. Some of the tools used in inventory are regarding to:

 Economic Order Quantity
 Safety Stock
 ABC Analysis
 FSN Analysis
 Trend Analysis and
 Inventory Turnover Ratio.
And then conclusions, limitations & scope for further study were discussed.
