A new problem

Hi everyone,
Can someone pls help me out me out with this problem?

Vaibhav wrote a certain number of positive prime numbers on a piece of paper. Vikram wrote down the product of all the possible
triplets among those numbers. For every pair of numbers written by Vikram, Vishal wrote down the corresponding GCD. If 90 of the
numbers written by Vishal were prime, how many numbers did Vaibhav write?
(1)6 (2)8 (3)10 (4) Cannot be determined

Thanks in Advance

Sq(1+sq(2+sq(3+sq(4+......)=?

sq=squareroot.

-Deepak.

sq(1)=1
Therefore sq(1+anything)>1 and it may be root 3
Or u can try
sq(1+sq(2+sq(3+sq4)
= sq(1+sq(2+sq(3+2) root 5=2.23 something
= sq(1+sq(2+2.23)
= sq(1+sq(4.23) take 4,23 as 4 approx
= sq(1+2)
= sq 3

one doubt mr aspire........how did u take sqr(4+sqr(5+..........)) as sqr 4and hence as 2???could u explain that??

The possible options given are 1 and root 3. Certainly the ans is not one however it can be root 3. Roots of the roots will have a lesser value so we can take approximateor neglect them. The question does not expect you to solve it completely(literally impossible) but to make a smart guess.

Let N0, N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7 be an (unknown) list of eight whole numbers with the property that

N0 = the number of times 0 occurs in the list.

N1 = the number of times 1 occurs in the list,

And so on.

Thus each Ni counts the number of times the number ‘i’ occurs in the list.

1. The N0 is ………..

1] 0 2] 1 3] 2 4] 4

2. How many of N4, N5, N6 and N7 can be non-zero? (1mark)

1] 0 2] 1 3] 2 4] 3

3.. How many times does 1 occur? (1mark)

1] 0 2] 1 3] 2 4] 3

4. Which of the following statements can be true? (2marks)

(i) 2 4 N = N (ii) 0 3 N = N

(iii) 3 4 5 6 N = N = N = N (iv) 3 5 6 7 N = N = N = N

1] 1 and 3 only 2] 2 and 4 only

3] 1 and 4 only 4] 2 and 3 only.

its an inequation problem.
between what values of x, is the expression 19x-2x^2-35 positive?
is the answer (5/2)<x<7 correct?

its an inequation problem.
between what values of x, is the expression 19x-2x^2-35 positive?
is the answer (5/2)<x<7 correct?

the condition asked is that 19x-2x^2-35 > 0

If u factorize this expression, u would arrive at (x-7) (2x-5) < 0

The condition would get satisfied only when one of the terms is negative.

So if (x-7) < 0 and (2x-5) > 0 , we achieve the target.

Hence, x < 7 and x > 5/2

So, 5/2 < x < 7 is correct.

thanks gaurav.
but can you please tell me how to decide which one term to be taken as <0 and which one as >0

but can you please tell me how to decide which one term to be taken as <0 and which one as >0

That's very simply. You have a condition that xy < 0, hence, either x should be -ve or y. Both can't be positive or negative together.

Again, when u analyse both the terms, a number can't be greater than 7 and less than 2.5, i.e x>7 and x<2.5 is ruled out.

Hence, the only condition that exists is our answer.

can anybody solve this question

( ratio & proportion )

Q. Amit and Binit enter into a partnership Amit
invested the captial amounting to Rs. 4500 with
the condition that the profit is to be equally divided
and that Binit pays interest on half of the capital
to Amit at 10% but receives Rs 120 per month for
carrying on the business .what is their total yearly
profit if Binit's income is half of amit's income ?

(a) 9,180 (b) 9,000 (c) 9356 (d) 10,000

I am not so sure but, I think that the answer --- (a)

but can somebady explain it ...
