  • Responds to changes in environment.


  • Economies of scale by providing the best resources and ensuring an efficient way of its deployment.


  • Enhance communication among managers to discuss matters, and agree on matters.

  • Sound decisions as taken by experts.
  • v Difficulty in coordination as manager has to report to more than two people.
  • v Increases inter-departmental dependence.
  • v High cost because of number of meetings, reports and paperwork.
  • v Absence of unity-of-command as subordinate has to report to two bosses
