Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) is an American-based airline headquartered in Atlanta. Delta's flights are operated by 7 different subcontractor regional airlines and 1 mainline airline. It is the world's largest airline – operating under a single operating certificate – in terms of number of annual passengers, fleet size and destinations served. After the United-Continental merger is completed Delta will become the world's second largest airline in terms of annual passengers; however, it will remain as the world's largest airline in terms of fleet size. Delta operates an extensive domestic and international network, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Australia. Delta and the Delta Connection carriers fly to 348 destinations in 64 countries (excluding codeshare), across six continents. Delta operates the world's largest hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, also known to DAL as WorldPort. Delta Air Lines is a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance.
On October 29, 2008, Delta completed its merger with Northwest Airlines to form the world's largest commercial carrier. In February 2009, the airline began consolidating gates and ticket counters at airports where both Delta and Northwest operate. The consolidation was completed February 2010. On December 31, 2009, the Federal Aviation Administration granted Delta's request to allow Delta and Northwest to operate under a single operating certificate.

Taking the action today, the company see some opportunities in the long run manner as the creating more secure and stable jobs. Though, it can be denied that it has the possibility of rebuilding the business (Media Ford, 2008).
The company is optimistic that the change happened will be for the long term growth commitment. This will also focus on the customer and the innovative boundless on the business aspects including the efficiency of the fuel, safety, and the factory floor efficiency. The company stands for the looks which are distinctive feel, the toughness the quality, and the fun on the automobiles which are products of Ford. It has also been stand on the working women and men of the Ford Motor Company as well as to its families (Ibid).
Around the globe, the company is on its rights track but not in its own home land that is why it is eager to expand and to more in North America. The company will focus on the approach of far sighted as not publishing the yearly earnings guidance. This decision is guided by the actions which are customer’s oriented, brand building, innovative acceleration, and strong products development. The company will also sharpen the customers. This means that the company will adapt on the changes that happened in its customers so that it can catch up on their wants. This means that the products produced are for the customers’ satisfaction.
