Criterias for selecting a B-school

Some of the criterias for selecting a B-school can be -

1) Placements

This is the most important and relevant indicator of a good B-School. If the faculty and infrastructure etc. are good but Placements are NIL, then nobody will like to take admission in such a B-School.

2) Faculty

Faculty expertise in respective subjects and teaching expereince counts a lot. It has a great role to play in todays dynamic Business environ as a good practical knowledge is a must.

3) INFRASTRUCTURE

Hostel quality of rooms , food at mess, atmosphere both acaedmic n social; IT - availablity of comps,printers, std of networking(- am ust hese days;Library - latest books/mags, no of copies, cooperation of staff; Classrooms - do they faciliate teaching of the course n real learning.

4) Course

The content of the course and its format is also important. The distribution of the course over semesters has to be looked upon.

5) Relevance of course

Relevance of course in todays management scenario is vital. The course should be relevant to not only the current scenariao
but also the likely future scene which is unpredictable.

6) INDUSTRY INTERFACE

Faculty & Students interaction with industry; how many places r they consulting, how many company boards r they on, coz this adds value to ur course n learning. If an Institute is located near corporate houses, gues faculty can come easily.

7) STUDENTS OF BATCH

Background of class whether they have work ex., good acad. Background; Competition level /intra batch atmosphere etc.

(8 ) RESEARCH

Student participation in faculty research- For those with a research bent of mind, this is an imp criteria..coz it adds huge value to ones
resume;Number of papers, cases published- those looking for mastery of a subject,its important.

9) EXTRA-CURRICULARS
(u may not reject an Inst. on this basis though)

Diversity of options to participate in - Bbesides the standard mgmt clubs/groups,what kind of chances does one have to develop his/her creative talents like drama,sports, writing ,music etc; Chance to participate in inter-college level comp -method of selection of people rep the college, how much does ur acads. allow u to participate;Level of extra-curriculars - how much value will these add to ones resume?

10) EXCHANGE PROGRAM
1) no of people going for exchange program
2) modes of international exposure
(if one doesn't get selected for exchange prog., does that mean no chance of intl. exposure)
3) quality of universiies in student exchange
