Project Abstract
Summer training is an integral part of management courses. Summer training experience refers to knowledge and skills acquired by a student by participation in activities performed by professional. It is distinct from an education in which theoretical knowledge is acquired.
Purpose
This project aims to study the growth of insurance industry and consequently studying the investor awareness about financial market and what they want to buy. This project will look into the various ups and downs in financial market prevalent in the Indian economy. This project also understands the shift of market from traditional insurance plans to ULIP plans. With rapid and fast changes in market, the investment market is experiencing a very heavy growth in the Indian economy. This will help us also to understand how SMC Global will grow in future by providing a wide range of services to its substantial and diversified client

Scope
The project is divided into 4 phases.
Initial phase: It consists of the overview of SMC Global, what products the company offerings, what is the role of company in insurance sector.
Second phase: It consists of studying the present scenario of the Indian insurance sector. Initial phase analyzes those factors which affect the insurance sector. Getting to know the major players in the insurance and their comparisons. It analyses the introduction of ULIP product.
Third Phase: It consists the sell and promote the company product and making aware the client about company products
Fourth phase: It consists research methodology on customer awareness about insurance.
Objective

To study and analyze the Indian insurance sector
This project helps to understand the present scenario of Indian insurance sector. It helps to know about those factors which affect the insurance sector, and also help to know about the comparative analysis of different insurance companies

To sell and promote the company product
This includes visiting the customers to promote the company products. This includes giving them details about the products, the product features, product brochures .It also includes making them aware of the various policies of the company, and the benefits and advantages to them of becoming client of our company.

To know about the customer awareness towards insurance This includes the filling of questionnaire by people and analyze them what is their thinking about insurance and what they want.
HISTORY OF SMC

Our journey started with incorporation of the
Company with the Registrar of Companies, NCT of Delhi & Haryana, New Delhi on 19th day of December, 1994 as SMC Global Securities Ltd. and commenced our business on 2nd day of January, 1995. We acquired the Membership of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSEIL) in the Capital Market Segment vide SEBI Certificate No. INB230771431 and started providing financial services to the public at large, with rapid growth we registered our presence in Derivative Segment by acquiring the Trading & Clearing Membership of Derivative Segment of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSEIL) vide SEBI Certificate No. INF230771431 dated 3rd day of July, 2000. By continuous widening of our ambit we enrolled as AMFI Registered Mutual Fund Advisor vide ARN No. 29345 dated 6th day of July, 2005 and also got registered with various Mutual Funds Asset Management Companies for our distribution business. After acquiring all these memberships
and registrations from appropriate authorities, we are moving in the direction of continuous growth and development.

OUR SUBSIDIRIES

SMC Comtrade Limited, member of the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange Limited (NCDEX) and Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), which was earlier one of our business associate, became our wholly owned subsidiary w.e.f. 26th day of April, 2007 along with its 100% subsidiaries i.e. SMC Insurance Brokers Private Limited (an Insurance Broking Company- registered with IRDA) and SMC Comex International DMCC (Member of Dubai Gold and Commodity Exchange).
