PERCEPTION OF WOMEN MANAGERS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The study deals about the major features of the women managers who are looking in at the decision making process, gender discrimination factors, commitment, risk taking, time management, continual learning, job hopping and sacrification level in their working environment. This study also undergoes the consideration of the factors which are mentioned above as particular criteria for evaluation. The aim of this study is also to identify the processing and manipulating the situations that are going around the working environment by the women managers

INTRODUCTION

The role of women worldwide is undergoing a dramatic change. Women today share the podium with men in almost all the fields, be it in kitchen or in defense. Working women are no longer a rarity and are now accepted as an integral part of the working force. Indian organization has experienced a steady increase in the number of women employees and this pattern is bound to continue in the future as well. Women recently began to join the ranks of managers in large number.
Seventeen percent of men managers left voluntarily while 16.5 percent of women managers left voluntarily. This slight difference in turnover challenges previous research that suggests women are more likely to resign from managerial positions for family-related or other reasons. To explain this new finding, the researchers speculate that the women managers they studied were more comparable to their male counterparts than women in earlier studies or broader populations. Changes in women's lifestyles or commitment to their careers might also explain this new conclusion.
