I see a number of MBA students talking of "good project titles" and "good summer assignments" in this forum. But one mans food can be another mans poison.

A summer training or project is a menas to an end, and not an end in itself. It is a means of getting more familiar with the sort of assignment, the industry, and the job which you want to do once you passs out from MBA.

So if Ram is a MBA student, with a public school background and a very polished appearance, great communication skills and is very tactful as a person. His dream is to get into software marketing to US MNS companies, always visit big customers in big comapnies and sell, and he has a Marketing and systems specialisation, and maybe an IT background , what would you suggest to him as a project title ? Probably all of us would suggest him a title which involves corporate sales + IT, or corporate sales + IT + Foreign companies etc etc

Similarily, if Ganesh is another MBA student who has a B Com background, is from a upwardly mobile middle class household, his father has stretched every penny to put him thru MBA. He understands the pressures of common people, is very well able to alter his language to talk to a person in his language based on region, community etc. His dream is to become a sales manager and finally the Chairmal of Hindustan Unilever. Now what is the right project title for him ? Probably we would all suggest to him, that a title on retail + FMCG + Sales or distribution + interior markets + FMCG etc would be ideal

So the ideal project titale, depends on you

* Who are you as a person
* What is your social skill vs hard-work preference
* What is your school and family background
* What is it that you like doing
* What is your dream job in year 2020

I suppose you may find , that with this template in fornt of you, the ideal project titles may jump at you

And if you then need help, please feel free to write in and forum members will be able to give you some advise

Cheers !

I really like this article, very well written and answers a simple question that really doesnt have a simple answer.

It'd be sad to see this get burried in the forum with a lakh other topics.. consider adding a few more things and posting it with an attractive title in the Articles section.
