Pay scale for Senior Officer in Government Jobs

Senior Officer is a one of the higher management positions in any organization irrespective of whether it is a government or private organization. Normally senior officers in public sector organizations in India are appointed in the pay scale of Rs. 24900-50500, however, this is not the standard pay followed by all public sector organizations. Pay scale also differs on the basis of the department for which candidates are recruited as senior officer.

Educational qualification:

The educational qualification requirement for the position of Senior Officer generally differs based on the department for which candidates are appointed. However, most of the organizations require that candidates must be first-class degree holders in the discipline for which applications are invited. For example, when GAIL issued notification for the position of Senior Officer (Medical Services), the organization required that candidates must have completed their MBBS along with higher degree like DGO/MS/MD in gyn. & obs. Even some organizations look for Ph. D holders in appropriate discipline for the position of Senior Officer.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates for the position of Senior Officer is normally done based on the performance of the candidates in written test in their own field of study followed by personal interview. Performance of candidates in both these tests is taken as criteria for their selection.

Job responsibilities:
