Founded in 1990, a young institution in the broader scope of academic history, CIIM swiftly established itself both within the business and academic community, as an educational institution grounded in its scope as a centre of excellence in business education and research.

CIIM stands alone as one of the few non-profit postgraduate educational institutions that have been driven to success by a group of business leaders, and under the guidance of The Cyprus Development Bank, with a global vision of establishing a non-state institution, on an island that is increasingly harbouring the resources to become an international business, financial and educational nucleus. The result is that CIIM effectively and successfully combines the best of European and American business education and employs innovative, yet proven, methods of learning and state-of-the-art technology. Over 500 students from five continents have met CIIM’s stringent graduation standards. Almost 100% of our graduates are employed in management and leadership positions; over two-thirds of them at a senior level.


Our statistics and quality of students speak for themselves. But the School was not without its critics. CIIM continually astounds skeptics with its capacity to achieve the unachievable - cutting through the bureaucratic red-tape by flexing its muscles as an institution which values integrity, enthusiasm and a passion for excellence in business education.


Through perseverance and example, CIIM is now recognised and fully accredited by the London-based Association of MBAs (AMBA). CIIM is also fully accredited by the Accreditation Authorities of Cyprus and, by extension, the European Union.


As a non-profit, non-state institution, CIIM is completely independent and free of both private interests and state bureaucracy, relying solely on the tuition of its students and the benevolent contributions of visionary sponsors.

CIIM MBA Programme

MBA Programme

The overriding objective of the CIIM MBA programme is to prepare business managers to take a holistic view of the business environment and its main stakeholders (customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers and the society at large), as well as of the international environment. We aim for CIIM graduates to use their existing skills and creativity, whilst developing key management abilities to inspire change and innovation in their sphere of influence.


Specifically, the main objectives of the MBA programme are to:

* provide the basic analytical tools required by managers, including fundamental concepts and principles from the various functional areas, for effective and holistic management
* develop skills in using these tools in an imaginative, problem-solving manner
* develop the ability to make and carry out decisions
* establish a basis for dealing effectively with others, both in written and oral communication
* instill a thorough understanding of today’s economic, political, and social environment
* encourage continuous learning from practical experience.

Learning outcomes

CIIM seeks to ensure that by the end of their studies our graduates are equipped with:

* the technical skills in all functional areas of management
* the ability to use data and apply analytical skills and a critical approach in solving management problems and making business decisions
* the skills to analyse company balance sheets and other financial statements and formulate implementable business plans
