Opened in April 2000, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is Japan's first truly international university, welcoming students and faculty from over 75 different countries and regions around the world.
This unique global and multicultural perspective is combined with the 130 year tradition of the Ritsumeikan Trust, one of Japan's most well-known and respected educational institutions. In April 2003, APU opened two graduate schools to further its education and research initiatives and expand its contribution to the Asia Pacific region.
Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Graduate Schools are fully accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
In this course students can study for an MBA that applies the teaching methods and concepts commonly used in North America and Europe, but with a unique focus on the Asia Pacific.
The APU-MBA offers case method education focused on businesses in the Asia Pacific region together with a strong foundation in established management techniques.
Students in the APU Master of Business Administration can choose to focus their studies in the following concentrations:
• Finance Concentration
• International Business and Marketing Concentration
• Innovation and Technology Management Concentration
• Comparative Institution Design for Transition Economy and Business Management
• General Business
Degree awarded upon completion: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Duration of degree program: Two years full time. (Completion in 1.5 years may be possible).
Enrollment periods: Early April and late September every year
*Spring Option: Please note that while there are two enrollment periods each year for the MBA program, the Required Subjects will be offered only in the Fall Semester.
Students who enroll in the Spring Semester can take the Spring Option subjects before taking the Required Subjects. In the Spring Semester students can earn up to 8 credits out of the 48 credits that are necessary for MBA Program completion. The Spring Option subjects include electives that are designed to meet a variety of students' needs, including introduction to accounting and independing study. An intensive training in business communication in English will be offered and the same course may also be offered in Japanese.
