 According to an IT company, the team might not have any concrete idea for the solution one is looking for, but will definitely get many ideas if he/she let others to brainstorm for a while. If one has a framework to approach, give them an over all idea about it. Grand more time, and motivate people who suggested meaning full ideas, slowly they will come close to the requirement and even that may even better than of his/her. Now it’s time to reconcile and give it back, the team can make it more powerful and meaningful than that of an individual’s. This way of giving space in the decision making process will help him/her to mould themselves into new leaders.

 At the same time when it was asked in a manufacturing company, their opinion was that the team might sometimes analyze the situation and then try to understand why others are not taking a decision by sitting with them and try to lead them to a solution.

 When it comes to tackle a situation in an IT company in a conflicting situation there is a limit to how much information any one individual can process, and a limit on how many perspectives one person can see. Many decisions need full group participation to explore the situation, provide input and make a final choice. As he/she can often see, groups can often make better decisions than any one person operating on his or her own. This is one of the main reasons that good companies have boards, to which important decisions are taken. If the problem is too complex, break down into it will be easy to handle, later we can collate and consolidate the results.

 In case of few manufacturing companies, sometimes in a conflicting situation one may give a deep thought and den understand the problem and analyze the situation from various angles and then arrive at what he/she think is the best for the organization under the prevailing circumstances.

 Eastern and Indian philosophy bends an ethical code; intuitive thought process and respect for a guru/mentor are of great helping life. It’s up to people to decide whether knowledge of Indian ethos or ethos is helpful in any ways. As it has a very old and sound foundation, it has everything that is required to handle any complex situation in one’s real life. As it is practically proven, it is widely used all over the world in one form or the other.

 As a role leader,
o Lord Krishna preached and taught it to Arjuna but Gandhiji practiced it shown it to a mass. Regarding Narayan Murthi, one thing is sure that his presence has got a lot to do there in Infosys that is the reason even after the retirement they are keeping him as mentor in the board with special privileges.

 According to the IT firm, in Mahabharata, the war between the pandavas and the kauravas showed that how Krishna driven the chariot in the battle field, how cool he was in the battle field, the venue he selected for the teaching of ‘GEETHA’ was the battle field, was there any other ideal place other than it? How Bheeshma lead the battle? Though he knew that he is representing the evils, he never changed his mind, he was concerned about the safety of Hastinapura. When he realized that it is in the safe hands then only he embraced the death.

 In order to motivate employees, some people go for the Participative process, room to learn from mistakes and support to the employee to take their initiative forward.

 In order to a manufacturing firm, every organization’s base is individuals only. But at the same time one should keep less dependency on an individual, any organization build on the basis of individual is going to suffer in the future; group participation is the best in any organization, building a future generation is beneficial for the successful running of the organization in future. A futuristic organization will take care of the larger needs of the individuals who are its stakeholders.

 When it comes to competition with other departmental leaders, few focus on work and they believe that one has to compete with oneself and not with others. Whereas some think that ethical and healthy competitions are always good for the betterment of any organization, it will deliver good results.

 Indian employees when compared to other nation’s employees are more inclined to the culture, religion, language, etc. of that country. In India people individually are much talented but unfortunately never work as a team. The difference here is in the attitude. In any country, Indian employees are very famous for their work culture and positive attitude towards work. That is why Indians are biggest and reliable HR provider in the world.

Here people often consider only the positive aspect of the HR in India, at the same time he/she can‘t agree with those people who are leaving the country immediately after their higher education from the leading education institutions like IIT’s and IIM’s and also from the cadre of IAS, IFS, etc. Even after spending millions of rupees by Indian government, the ultimate benefit is earned by foreign countries. They should at least think about their responsibility as a citizen, once they leave the country, most of them even bother to return also they simply forget about their nation, they are mere NRI- Non- Returnable Indians.

 Indian approach towards leadership is about giving space to groom, freedom to take initiative. Indians are moral practical oriented, western are more process oriented and are more charismatic, system driven and abrasive. So both have its own pros and cons like this the manufacturing leader concluded related to the asked question.

 The ability to stand up for a cause focus on the overall good i.e. opportunity, necessity, etc. of the organization and set an example for other employees. Here a little touch of motivation creates new destination. This was the opinion of IT firm leader.

 And the opinion given by the manufacturing firm leader was that; in today’s scenario foreign management institutions are taking a lot of things from Vedas and Puranas and mostly one need a combination of Indian ethos (major) with a blend (minor) of Western influence. Einstein had said, there wasn’t any book that influenced him like ‘Bhagavat Gita’.

 Today the modern day managers are completely caught between the materialistic values of modern age and the spiritual values of ancient culture. That is because most managers do not have a spiritual approach, especially the young ones. But this cannot be agreed completely because whatever it be let it be a manger or a team member, he/she always has an influence of the happenings in the society.

If the majority of people in the society are of the category, as a subset of the society, he/she may see this kind of characteristics in anybody. So in short, he/she need to transform the society and it should start from a person then only he/she may get people with exceptional personalities and qualities, otherwise as mythologies says it will happen only once in 1000 years. Both the IT and Manufacturing related firm leaders gave their opinion related to Leadership Lessons from Indian Ethos.
