Why are IIM's dominated by Engineers ?

MBA Batch 2011-13: Engineers continue to dominate top B schools

At IIM Calcutta of the total 462 students 93% students have an engineering background. More than 12% of these students have experience in finance and consulting, the preferred careers of graduates of this institute.


Strange enough why is this scenario?

This is the question i wanted to ask long back...Why engineers are entering the management field...someone should tell them to do expertise in the technical field and not the management field...Leaving ME why do they come for MBA
