Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) is one of India's premier business schools. Since its inception, JBIMS has continuously raised the bar for management education in the country through a formidable combination of its faculty and alumni.

The visiting faculties at JBIMS are experts from various fields who are involved in business and bring their rich experience to the classroom. Wi-Fi
JBIMS students enjoy 24 X 7 wireless connectivity to the Internet, thanks to a 256 Mbps Wireless Fidelity facility.
Computer Centre
The computer centre is equipped with Pentium based workstations with a wide variety of installed software comprising statistical and analytical packages, project management software, and business environmental simulation software amongst others. Twenty-four hour Internet connectivity provides seamless access to various data sources and tools to aid research.
Class of 1976
This is a state-of-the-art training center, set up with assistance from the batch of 1976, well equipped with technology necessary for a high quality educational experience.
Hostel
Although a non-residential program, two boys' hostels are located at walking distance from the institute. The hostels are run by the University of Mumbai and accommodation is reserved for students of JBIMS along with students from other institutes affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
Canteen
The JBIMS canteen is very popular eating-place amongst students and nearby corporates. It is a place where students also relax and discuss important issues over a cup of tea and snacks.
Committees
The student committees are the nerve centres of the college. The decisions taken by the committees play a very important role in the day-to-day running of the institute. The committees function in an environment of interdependence to achieve goals that result in overall student development. The emphasis here is on giving the students a taste of decision-making in teams under challenging circumstances. This conditions them to think on their feet, take risks and have a clear, goal-oriented outlook towards situations.
The committees comprise of students elected by the batch. The committees act as facilitators in their respective functions. The JBIMS committee elections are reputed for being highly democratic and transparent. Each committee consists of students from both the junior and the senior batch. Every year new members are inducted from the junior batch under the leadership of the senior members. They are then expected to take the mantle and continue to set higher standards for their committees through greater achievements. The committee structure instills a spirit of time management and commitment within the students who are expected to juggle academics, committee work and extracurricular activities simultaneously.
Placement Committee
Affectionately known as the PlaceCom amongst the students, this committee is in charge of managing the summer and executive placements of the full time program. The PlaceCom strives to shape a better future for the 120 students through regular interaction and feedback about their interests in various sectors on one hand and continuously building relationships with recruiters on the other. Flawlessly coordinating the entire gamut of placements right from summer internships, off-summer opportunities to pre-placement talks and executive placements is the hallmark of PlaceCom.
Alumni Committee
The strength of JBIMS lies, inter alia, in the Alumni base, which engenders a harmonious co-existence of traditional excellence with modern managerial acumen. The splendour and glory of their sterling achievements contribute to the brand name of JBIMS and constantly inspires the current students to scale greater heights.
JBIMS has a rich heritage of Alumni which features prominent names like:
• Mr. Ajay Piramal - Chairman, Nicholas Piramal India Ltd.
• Mr. Uday Kotak - MD, Kotak Mahindra Bank
• Mr. Harish Manwani - Non-Executive Chairman, Unilever
• Ms. Vinita Bali - CEO, Britannia
• Ms. Chanda Kochhar - Executive Director, ICICI Bank
• Ms. Lalita Gupte - DMD, ICICI

• Mr. Mani Ratnam - Filmmaker
• Mr. Sanjay Lalbhai - MD, Arvind Mills
• Mr. Prem Mehta - CEO, Amirati Puris Lintas
• Mr. Pradeep Pant - MD, Gillette
• Mr. Mani Rathnam - Film Director
The AlCom maintains relationships with close to 2500 alumni. The annual alumni meet - "Nostalgia" is an opportunity for our alumni to reunite and reconnect with their alma mater, which is continuously evolving to scale greater heights.
The AlCom also manages a corporate mentorship program wherein each student is assigned a corporate mentor. The corporate mentor will help the students map his future decisions in relation to his aims and goals on a one to one basis. In addition to this the Alumni Committee also maintains an alumni directory.
Corporate Relations Committee
The CRC is the corporate and media interface of the institute. It bridges the gap between the corporate practices and the theory imbibed by the students through regular guest lectures in specialized fields, workshops and career guidance. This enables the students to get a deeper insight into industry practices and provides the corporates an opportunity to get a "feel" of the students' perspectives.
The CRC also acts as the media cell of the institute through constant interaction with media houses. It highlights the talents of the students, be it in the form of students giving their opinion about the budget on television channels, writing articles for MBA aspirants, or participating in contemporary case study discussions for the print media. The CRC also liaises with the media for B school rankings, placements coverage and coverage of various events at the institute.
Strategym Committee
Strategym is the annual business convention of JBIMS, which provides a platform to its students to present their perspectives on evolutionary management disciplines. Strategym, since its inception in 1995 has provided a cutting edge to business through innovative ideas and solutions in the unexplored areas of management. The fresh and innovative perspectives of youth are congregated with the expertise and experience of luminaries of the corporate world.
The papers presented at the convention focus on the current industry problems and spawn innovative solutions. The papers go through a stringent screening before being presented at Strategym where they are adjudged by prominent faculty members and invited industry experts. Each of these presentations is followed by a panel discussion; the panel, consisting of industry stalwarts, who provide an in-depth perspective on the ideas presented. The modules are then brought to their logical conclusion by an interactive session between the presenters, panelists and the audience.
Web Committee
The WebCom is the IT interface of the institute. It maintains the institute and alumni websites thus creating a window for the outside world to the regular events taking place at JBIMS. The services provided go beyond the physical IT infrastructure as the WebCom ensures continuous electronic interaction between students, committees, faculty, corporate and alumni. The WebCom also conducts online management games like "Bulls eye" an intra-collegiate Mock Stock Exchange game.
Catalyst Forum
The inter b-school interface of JBIMS, the Catalyst Forum manages the extra curricular activities of the college. These include participation in case studies, quizzes, business plans, etc., held by other institutes. Catalyst also organizes grooming and personality development sessions for the students through regular group discussions, interviews, etc.
The activities of Catalyst focus on making the student implement what he/she has learnt in theory thus exposing the student to the real life scenario. However the events organized by Catalyst, which the students look forward to most, are the Freshers' and Farewell parties that they arrange!!!
In March 2006, Catalyst forum organized 'Prayaag' the first ever inter-b-school event of JBIMS. It was held for the second time in October 2006 and is an annual event now.
Entrepreneurship Cell
The E-Cell is an initiative of the batch of 2004-06 under the leadership of Prof. Arun Sehgal who is an expert in international business. The E-Cell has been formed in conjunction with the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). The "Rainmakers", as the E-Cell calls itself, recognizes the essence of wealth creation through initiative. Rainmakers was formed with the desire to rekindle the spirit of entrepreneurship and instill in the students, the confidence to follow their dreams. It is an effort to dispel the idea that it is almost an impossible task in this country to become an entrepreneur. The cell holds a series of guest lectures by entrepreneurs - to educate the students about the qualities and resources required to become an entrepreneur in the real world.
