Hardee's is a restaurant chain, located mostly in the Southern and Midwestern regions of the United States. It has evolved through several corporate ownerships since its establishment in 1960. It is currently owned and operated by CKE Restaurants. Along with its sibling restaurant chain, Carl's Jr., Hardee's is the #4 U.S. fast-food restaurant burger chain after McDonald's,[1][2] Burger King[3] and Wendy's.[4] It is headquartered in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Hardee's founder, Wilbur Hardee, opened his first restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina, on September 9, 1960.[6] On the strength of its manly menu items, including the Huskee, the chain experienced rapid growth by franchising and, to a lesser extent, by acquiring other restaurant chains. The first company store opened in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in May 1961 by James Carson Gardner and Leonard Rawls on McDonald St. in downtown Rocky Mount. That location has since been razed.[7] According to Wilbur Hardee, Gardner and Rawls won a controlling share of the company from him in a game of poker. After realizing that he lost control over his namesake company, Hardee sold his remaining shares to them as well.[8] The chain was headquartered in Rocky Mount until 2001.

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. – Local Hardee’s® restaurant franchisee Restaurant Management Group (RMG) named Lorri Rednour its General Manager of the Year, an award she received for the second year in a row. Rednour, who was selected from among the company’s 44 Hardee’s restaurants, manages the Hardee’s at 198 Park Blvd.

Rednour’s selection for the award was based on criteria that includes guest comments, sales and profitability, controlling costs, and employee retention.

In addition to earning the General Manager award, the Rogersville Hardee’s restaurant under Rednour’s management was recognized as a Signature of Excellence restaurant by RMG. The award is given to a limited number of restaurants based on a broad range of criteria including customer service, employee retention and overall operational excellence.

“Lorri and her crew did an outstanding job again in 2008,” said Jack Mangan, president of Restaurant Management Group. “To win the General Manager of the Year award back to back as well as receive a Signature of Excellence award demonstrates her dedication and shows what a professional she is.”

RMG is the sixth-largest Hardee’s franchisee in the United States. The company owns and operates Hardee’s restaurants in and around the Tri-Cities region of Virginia and Tennessee as well as in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. RMG also owns and operates 23 Little Caesars in northeast Tennessee, southwest Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.

Rednour has worked with RMG for eight years. She has worked with Hardee’s for 25 years.
She lives in Morristown and in her spare time enjoys working in her flower garden and watching TV.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. has presented its annual Carleton Noell Achievers awards to 10 Hardee’s® restaurant general managers and two district managers. The Carleton Noell award is the top operational award given by Boddie-Noell, the nation’s largest Hardee's franchise operator.

The recognition and celebration of the annual winners was held at the company’s Rose Hill Conference center near Nashville. Each recipient received cash awards, plaques and gifts to reward their restaurant management teams and crews for their 2008 performance.

“This year’s Carleton Noell winners are unique and wonderful individuals,” said Terry Lewis, vice president of operations for Boddie-Noell’s Hardee’s division. “Not only are they excellent operations leaders, but they also serve as a personnel manager, counselor, coach, and teacher for the crews they work with. They all embody the values that Boddie-Noell Enterprises was founded on.”

The award-winning individuals and restaurants represent the best among the 341 Hardee’s restaurants operated by the company across four states. The winners were selected on an established set of objectives for operational excellence. The annual award is named for the late W. Carleton Noell, one of the founders of Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. which opened its first Hardee’s in 1962.

Senior district manager Dwight Searson of Bamberg, S.C. and district manager Ruth Bazile of Richmond, Va. each won the Carleton Noell award based on an established set of objectives for operational excellence among district supervisory leadership.

The restaurant general manager “achievers” include Lorraine Rivera with the Hardee’s at 905 North Smithfield Road in Knightdale; Dorothy Marshall with the Hardee’s at 5601 Castle Hayne Road in Castle Hayne; Tashuia Williams with the Hardee’s at 4607 South Alston Avenue in Durham; Brian Ball with the Hardee’s at 900 East Fincastle Street in Tazewell, Va.; Cynthia Jackson with the Hardee’s at 916 Virginia Avenue in Clarksville, Va.; Ethel Brown with the Hardee’s at 200 East Virginia Street in Crewe, Va.; Jackie Scott with the Hardee’s at 2301 Pruden Boulevard in Suffolk, Va.; Kirsty Dessenberg with the Hardee’s at 1494 General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Beach, Va.; Brenda Dukes with the Hardee’s at 10262 Dunbarton Boulevard in Barnwell, S.C., and Virginia Spellman with the Hardee’s at 2999 Main Highway in Bamberg, S.C.

Hardee’s franchise Restaurant Management Group (RMG) has recognized a Hardee’s restaurant it operates in Elkins as a winner of its Signature of Excellence award. The Hardee’s is located at 27 Randolph Ave.

The Elkins restaurant was one of seven RMG-operated Hardee’s restaurants to earn the recognition for 2007. Signature of Excellence recognition has a broad range of criteria that includes customer service, employee retention and overall operations excellence. This is the first time this restaurant has been recognized as a Signature of Excellence restaurant.

The award was presented at RMG’s annual awards ceremony in Kingsport, Tenn. Other Hardee’s that received this recognition were in Marmet, Bristol, Va., Kingsport, Tenn., Rogersville, Tenn., and Mt. Carmel, Tenn.

“To be a Signature of Excellence recipient a restaurant must excel in wide category of objectives,” said Jack Mangan, president of Restaurant Management Group. “These restaurants could not have received this award without the hard work of their management and crew teams.”

RMG is the sixth-largest Hardee’s franchise in the United States. The company owns and operates 44 Hardee’s restaurants in and around the Tri-Cities region of Virginia and Tennessee.
