There is a need of formal education for starting up business. Though there is limitless scope in India for entrepreneurship, one can find them only from major cities in the country starting up new ventures especially because of the risky investment factor. There is a need for managers in today’s business environment who can bring up a company from ground level with little training. A program can help an individual in achieving that level of perfection. It not only helps you in scaling your ambitions but also prepares you effectively in skills involving negotiation, employee relations, supervising, marketing, decision making, leadership and other business management skills. yes i do agree its totally depends on ur business nd i think its not strategically benificial for companies to retrencheed emplooyes in long run....coz whn upturn comes its difficult to compete and gain advantage...

Does anyone want to discuss on "role of formal education in entrepreneurship"?
kindly post your review about this. I believe, if some education and basic understanding is included as a part of general management programs, then it would be much helpful to produce entrepreneurs in this recession. however many syllabus lack these contents.

i think innovating is the key to beating recession. simply lamenting the fact that recession has set in wouldnt do any good. strategise, plan and implement to gain an advantage on ur competitors.obviously u r not the only one facing the heat, your competitor would also befacing problems coz of recession. so think , plan if need be reposition urself.

Its a relative question and completely depends on the business you are in, the kind of profit margins you are reaping and the corrective measures you need to take to increase profit margins.

Layoff's, increased efficiency in operations, automation, structured processes, increase in sales targets, better brand communication, restructuring prices etc etc ...

Corrective measures are endless and applying the right ones to your business is what an entrepreneur would be looking at.

Shutting shops is the last thing that someone would want to do as there arent much options available after doing so
