A weaker Pak threat to India?

A troubled neighbour can create disturbance in your house, and for India, a disturbed Pakistan spells trouble. Having already fought three wars, both sides are wary. Though we may want peace at all costs, we must learn to sleep with our eyes open. Pakistan has been a troubled nation, the tremors of which have been felt in India in the form of violence in the Valley. Arguably, never has our neighbour seen a situation so bad as it is experiencing now. The imposition of Emergency has exposed the hollow base of democracy. It has also negated the power of the judiciary and the free media and shown the world a General addicted to power. Domestic violence, a troubled North West Frontier Province and a nuclear weapon that could fall into the wrong hands -- this is enough to make any one see red. A weak Pakistan could turn into a nightmare for the world in general and India in particular. On the other hand, a strong Pakistan may continue to be a thorn in India's side and we may find it difficult to negotiate a solution to the problem in the Valley. And the world's only super power may want to keep a strong, strategically located Pakistan on its side. In that case, which is a greater threat for India - a stronger or a weaker Pakistan?

Yes, a weaker Pak is definitely a threat to India, but then so is a stronger Pak too - due to their attitude and persistent anti-India tendencies - perhaps the best thing could be a just a barely walkable Pak - strong enough to fight off its own terrorists, but not strong to pose our country any threat (military, nuclear or even of financial / logistical support to terrorists)

Pakistan a rougue nation beside is a threat, irrrespective whether it is weak or strong. The mindset of the nation towards India is not correct. They want to destabilise India whether they could feed their people a bread a day or not. The leadership till date are not at all believable. They say onething to the world and do the reverse. They fought unsuccessfully three wars with India. But they indulged in proxy war on day to day basis. The result is terrorist activities in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Varanasi, the list goes on. They feed the terrorists at the cost of the bread of common man of their nation. They are now paying for it now. My strong opinion is that, a rougue nation like Pakistan should not exist on the world map. It should be routed away.

Pakistan is never a threat to India...whether its strong or weak doesnt make any difference...India is such a big and strong country that a country like Pakistan cannot even think of being a threat to India....
