Two of the most prefered specializations that students choose in their MBA are HR and Marketing, other than Finance. Many students are skeptical about taking up Marketing as specialization as one does not become the VP of Marketing immediately after the course.
There is a common perception that a student with Marketing specialization may even be placed as a sales representative in a firm, which is absolutely ridiculous considering the effort the student has to give to complete a MBA course. However, HR does not have any such options and the salaries for HR people are pretty good too. However, a science background is mandatory for HR.
Which one do you prefer? Is one better than the other or are both of them equally lucrative?
How would you rate the following specializations on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best?
Finance
HR
Marketing
Information Systems Management
Lets talk about it guys!
