Is ICC considering monsoon factor before scheduling a match? - September 19th, 2006

Scintillating innings from Sachin after long lull ,Lord Lara saved WI yesterday. These are some of the memorable moments in Malaysia. But most important point to be noted is that two matches cannot proceed due to rain.Even in Srilanka none of the matches has been played due to rain.An One-day in Chennai also had been called off due to rain.

Is ICC considering monsoon factor before scheduling a series/match?

Thousands(I'm one in that) of cricket fans would be highly disappointed when a match was cancelled.Even players would be dejected after hours of practise. The series may take a topsy-turn when a match didn't happen.

a good point to raise...but the stats have always shown that whenevr a Match is abandoned...the next match gets more avid response from the spectators....as it is cricket is winning on some great grounds that includes 20 20 patterns...hence although this point seems logical...but ICC would always have diplomatic stands on such issues......

No ICC is only concerned about money and nothing else......it hardly cares for spectators and players convenience let alone factors like weather.......

ICC should consider monsoon factors b4 scheduling a match... In d event of d match being cancelled, d situtation seems 2 get pretty boring... Incase the match is rescheduled, dey shud play it as a 20 - 20 instead of a long 50 over match..

the environment factor shud be left with the the respective country's board to judgw, while the security/political aspect shud only lie with them to judge

yes offcourse the monsoon factor should be considered before deciding on the schedule for the matches.... so that the spectators who have gone to watch the match may not feel bad....
