I am new to this forum,but and a prospective manager who will be graduating from a premier bschool of this country. As far as placements are concerned its a setback for us but we are still managing to keep the flow going. I hope it will give you a some short of confidence that right now the companies are going through more filtration then ever. So put your best in the selection process and its yours.

situation is very bad. placements are going well but the risk is high in job offers
i think we should look for self employment is the only mean to go further

neha ur question is wht after mba if no job. if your from good institute with real skilll and knowledge u must get good job

in my college TSM madurai, placements got reduced drastically....
i dont know what to do next?
so i have decided to take risk ie.. im going into the entrepreunerial route.
im going to start a SME initially.

well in my college only 20%people got placed this yr. some of my seniors came back as they were laid off(were working at packages ranging from 5-10 lakhs).Even those who are placed,some did not even recieve their offer letters even after 4 months of selection. avg package has laso, reduced to round abt 2.5 but we are still better as we just pay somewhere around 1 lakh for our fees and books.

what i learnt 4m people of diff colleges was just the same. in such a scenario i believe the best route is 2 be entreprenuer if u have an idea. ur infra costs will be a bit lower,cost of hiring people will be less, u will be paying less money n u will have lot of experience handling with problems ,so that when situation improves u already r established/know how 2 conduct business better. also, i believe that a job will give u limited growth oppurtunities but for business to expand the whole world is open.

Depends on what is your specialisation and what place are you looking to reach 10 years. You dont have to be so disheartened

people here are talking abt phd,ca cfa,,,some are planning of venturing into business,,,do u think this market will support new busines as of now..the best plan is to get into any good financial profile,get settle for some time and then think abt business...people have forgoten the essential element in business,i.e finance(source of money)...
