Career Switch - Should it be encouraged?

(A career switch is when engg students take up management i.e.
change their basic chose study line)

Hi Ankit,
This is the trend of today.Ppl join an IT organisation and when they feel they are bored of their job they are planning to go for higher studies.Recent study says that 60% of the ppl giving CAT are those with Work-exp.Moreover this switch will make them climb the corporate ladder very fast.It gives them a panoramic vision to know the things happening around and helps them to understand the business environment fully in a short span of time.Managers are in high demand in IT industry which is very evident in the no of MBA courses offered for the work exp.So they are trying to catch this pie.Your CV will carry a weight when it has an MBA from a resputed institution.I don't see any harm in this switch.Wat do you say?

Last but not the least your matrimonial resume will also get weightage when you are an MBA ;-)

well i m of the view that it should be encouraged even i have swithced frm bio to mgmt , this is also happening becos of the opportunities in the mgmt field and also becos of less proactive actions taken by govt. in other fields ,this also helps people to have a generalised approach.

hey guys this is vishal. i have changed my stream from engg. to mgt. According to me change of stream should be encouraged. There r times wen a person takes wrong decission like someone has taken science but later on feels that this is not the thing which i want to do.

its nice to encourage career change.. its what u want to do in the end ...even at lot later ages ppl do not know wt they want out of life..its better to explore ones intrest in the early days!

hey guys... i feel a career switch shows instability which is not good as it makes ur profile week... so rather than changing ur stream later one should think 1st abt wat he or she has to do nd only after carefull thinking shud enter into a stream... ones time , money, energy ...everythings saved dat way....

many a times students opt for a career without knowng wht its al abt..and later repent over the decision..in such a situation u r left wth th only option to switch..

friend, i.e. time to utilize ur every moment in such moment ur one decision can make ur career but -ve is also. think both side
take care
