Can kids be superstars? - May 8th, 2008

Recently,Dharseel (film :Taare Zameen par)captured thousands of hearts with his skillful acting against Aamir Khan.Movie absolutely requires a child to do that.So Dharseel has done tat.But in recent times he is actively scouted by advertisers. Can we some laws which will put restrictions on advertisers to scout child like Dharsheel? We must think about the future of the child.Ofcourse he is star but his career is more than the silver screen.

Well Deepak I dont feel that we can put restrictions on advertisers from using the services of any child star simply because he is being paid heavily for that.

and they can be superstars if they plan their careers correctly with aN aim in their life....see the example of Kunal Khemu..so it depends upon him how he wants to mould his career and who is there to guide him properly..

And the other thing is that even the child artistes are willing to get into the limelight, few seconds of fame, queues for autograph....probably they will be on cloud 9 ......this is good for them only till their parents allow them or there is no restrictions from their parents, till he can manage studies and ads....

So i dont feel that putting restrictions on advertisers is good, as it will have an impact on their business and moreover the role of parents play a major role in shaping their careers rather than advertisers.

i feel that the kids need to be left alone..these are the only years where they do not have to work and worry about life..taking these years away from them is otally incorrect

Kids... Acting...
I think If a kid has this inborn talent of acting then he should not b stopped...
Now as far as acting is concerned... once cannot got with it at the cost of there career so parents need to see kids career as first thing...
Coming to acting.. Kids should also b givn chance to act and Have fun.. as "all work nd no play makes jack a dull boy".. but tht should b to the limited exchange.. coz most of the kids are like becoming habitat to the thngs they do.. so the fear is that the kid may not b able to concentrate on studies after going into this line....
And one more advantage of Kids acting.. is that so early in there lives they will come to kno abt fame world... abt glamor world.. they will get experience.
they will see how hard actors have to struggle.
when a kid sees some actor performing.. he thinks its very easy.. and some of them even try these stunts.. so this is a good thing that they r getting exposure so early in der life..

so i'll say they should b allowed to work.. but not at the cost of der career..

After effects of TZP is the release of "Bhootnath",another child-centric concept in which 3 top stars of Bollywood are acting. The movie revolves around the concept of "Ghost is good".The target audience mainly could be the children in India.I feel this is after the success of TZP.More children are entering the silver screen and they are turning into heroes.Do you feel this is good for the children?

Even i feel there should be a limit put on such kids, i can elaborate with a reason:

Every one knows the story of Britney spears, she achieved stardom at quite a young age, and now at an age of mid 20's she's ruining herself.. the reason im giving this example is that, if kids achieve stardom at young age, they get cannot handle failure in case they have..

So lets prevent that...

if the kid is having the talent n luck to b in d lime lite den to an extent it shud b allowed. There shud be restrictions on it too how many projects a child does in ayear n how much time wud b spent in dat that. Even d parents need to take care that their child is nt over burdened wit work as dis is the age 4 a child to enjoy without much responsibilities. D parents shud nt b carried away n balance the child's life wit proper education too. Parents play a very prime role in dis.

well, to add my view, buddies,

a superstar is one who not only has the recognition but also the capability to run a film on his/her name alone. No child actor has that kind of capability as such in the bollywood film industry. The definition of sueprstar has changed from that of the yesteryears, whence once it meant the stars of stars, today its any person with a recognised face.
