Will the IPL help in boosting the domestic cricket?

In recent times cricket has become a money spinning industry.Recently concluded multi-crore deal of IPL auction confirms this.Indian and Overseas players were auctioned for crores. The salaries of the cricketers will soon beat those of the CEOs in Wall street. But in this money cloud will the U-22 players get recognised? There is also one more provision where the international players can be traded b/wn the teams jus like stocks. So will the teams spend some time in grooming the U-22 stars?I seriously doubt that.Team managers will spend time in achieving profits for their investments and will concentrate on advertisments. Will this format help in grooming the U-22 players.

It will give platform to young players to show their talent & player who performs well will have a good chances to select.worrying factor about IPL is player who has to play for both indian team & IPL.Too much cricket will ruin thier physical fitness.Remeber indian austrailia tour? here RP Singh & Jahir both are unable to play 4 test due to fitness. Then what will happen if they play in IPL too ?

Well even i dont think that there will be proper grooming for the players but it can be said that these players will get a lot of exposure as they will be playing with the best of the best.....so lots and lots of advice will be flown to them from every direction.....and grooming has to be all round grooming and that comes not only by playing matches but having good coaches,,pitches,,infrastructure which can be hardly seen in the indian context as these big ppl and politician are only here to make money as can be seen by the amount one has got in the auction.

The fear is that now players will play for money rather than their own country.

Definitely IPL will boost domestic cricket as in India sports is still not consider as a career option. Today only few cricketers of India are famous and earned decent amount of money but barring this exception domestic cricket not very well recognized. Even when Dhoni was playing cricket no one knows him but now he has became most priced cricketer in IPL. There is no dearth of talent in India but recognition get only at international level and IPL Teams are providing platforms to unrecognized talented cricketers and these are all professionally managed so we shouldn't be surprised if domestic cricket will get as popular as professionally managed football teams

Well....I reaaly don't think so....It's fake showcasing that evrything is being done for promoting cricket or for grooming youngsters...It's all ablout making hay when the sun shines......

The players will also feel the same....As they get to earn a amount in just 45 days which they can;t even slogging it out for a year.......

It's all about money ......:SugarwareZ-191:

I am sure IPL is a boon for all cricket fans. Where else can we players from around the world get together for a short game of cricket. The structure is brilliant giving autonomy to each team. Cricketers are finally treated somewhere close to football stars who we know earn far far more than cricketers...

cheers to IPL

well no one can gainsay the commercial aspect of IPL but with so much money involve into it i a country like india where a normal family opt sports as a last option for his child career.I believe these lucerative offers from big corporates may boost their confidence in future of sports (atleast cricket).Domestic players will fight more to be a part of elight stream..and there will not be another way except improving their game.Commercialising everything can not be a solution but for sports it may surely help....But in india we are concentrating totally on cricket that is a cause of concern. We should have gud sponcers in other sports as well.

good point... no doubt brings in lot of money and is like lil bit of commercialization of the game... but eventually if it is able to built infrastucture in small towns(stadiums, practise courts) and widens the oppurtunity window for lot many young aspiring crickters... Then IPL is set 2 conquer the great indian cricket pitch...!

I think it will Boost the infra of Domestic cricket but it will also effect the quality of the game. people will now play for money rather for the spirit of playing. but we need not worry much about it as more advantages than the disadv. apart from it players will play better so bring concitency in their game. beeter they play better they will get chance(as money) next time.

IPL HAS BROUGHT FORTH ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED KIDS FORTH.... IT ROCKED :)o

PLAYERS LIKE YUSUF PATHAN..... MS GONI... WERE FACES EXTINCT BEFORE IPL...

IPL HAS GIVEN JUST THE RIGHT KIND OF PLATFORM REQUIRED :)

yes gony...yusuf etc ipl gifted them to indian cricket and with infussion of so much money in it .it ias infact boosting

Yes, actually it has already boosted the domestic cricket and has given chances to many young talents. IPL is the best platform for those who lost their identity in the crowd and did not get a single chance for the cricket politics and back hand powers of senior cricketers.
