Hi guys,

Some undesirable practices over a long time. Dowry- prevalent even among the educated class, Sati- recent example of a lady in North India, Child marriages- still prevalent in backward areas etc. Reason on why do we still follow such customs. Traditional subjugation of women-present even in big cities among upper class society.

Allied problems due to such customs- intolerance, fundamentalism, exploitation, etc Suggest ways out of this like education the masses, indicating the outmodedness and irrelevance of such practices today...etc...

What are your views…

yes there are certain old customs which are followed even today in some parts of rural and urban India.Among few to mention SATI,DOWRY,CHILD MARRIAGE,CAST DISCRIMINATION,GENDER INEQUALITY,FEMALE INFANTICIDE,DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
How much ever the family is educated in present India some way some or other socially evil practices are practiced. To mention among the most prominently practiced today are dowry, child marriage in rural parts, gender inequality(strongly practiced in rural and urban India both) ,domestic violence.
Why cant there be end to all these practices??what fear people have if they take initiative and go against these practices?

If there is no change in people perception then these evil practices will soon be traditions.
