Is commercialisation of sports, a wastage of money? - June 16th, 2010

Yes.I think it's a wastage of money...Most of the people in India are living below poverty line and cannot afford a two time meal in a day...

I feel that advertising of sports to an extent is justified..but there is no sense in spending money like water for such thing in India where you have 20-21% of population below poverty line.

Is there a need of giving money to players like Abhinav Bindra and M.S.Dhoni..they have already earned name and fame....but most of the state government is giving crores of money to them....if you want to win in Olympic or wanna improve in sports than help the poor associations, help the poor talented players of the country..

a big example- A NRI had to pay the hotel and food bill of Indian hockey team in Australia...as the players and the board didn't had the money to pay the bill....and after 6 months also the NRI didn't get his money back..
