Is GD/PI right way to assess individual???

What are your views MPites..........

Today, the trend in India during placement time for selecting an individual is -
a psychometric/aptitude tests (optional), Group Discussion(GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Do you think this is the right way to judge a candidate's abilities. Or can any changes be made to judge a candidate more efficiently !!!

Plz bring out the advantages/disadvantages of such methods of assessment and how it affects the individual as well as the invigilator/interviewer.

partially yes.its get to know an instant calibre of a person but on other hand sometimes a person get nervous or lack in a particular subject discussed.so depends................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the right methodology. A good student will easily pass this testing. If he is nervous he should practice soft skills.

gd n pi earlier was best method but now a days what is happening in gd is people who r not aware of the topic they try to make the fishmarket so the whole group is washed out.this is problem for good candidates who really want to make input in gd ...i hav suffered this in 2 companies
