Outer Appearance or Inner Appearance

In today's world people more often give importance to outer appearance rather then inner appearance. Outer appearance can include all things such as the way of dressing, looks, etiquette, power, position, etc. and Inner appearance can include good nature, down to earth attitude, Kind heart, helpful nature etc.. We all have read these sayings "Judge a man by his shoes" and " Never judge a book by its cover" and "Judge a man by his work and not his position".

So what you all think what is more important the Outer appearance or Inner appearance?

In today's so called "show off world" ...more importance is given to Outer one rather than looking at the Inner qualities of a person....I think Inner is more important but along with coordination of Outer appearance..

well everyone knows that a person should be more beautiful from heart rather than from outside...but still we give a lot of importance to outside beauty... this is because the first view of the person is the outer one...gradually as we get to know the person...we come to know about his inner self...

but personally...i think inner beauty matters a lot..be it a love relationship...friendship..alliance ..partnership..anything..

Well I'm of an opinion outer and inner appearances both to make a complete personality.

As for me I never judge people on appearance. I try to learn the person from within. And if it is fine inside externally it will seems to me attractive too.

Good appearance is a qualifier - i.e. one does not really want a very much stunning appearance - just enough to say, fit in job/situation etc. is required. It's inner one which matters afterwards.
But yes, as usual, there's definitely a glut in the market of the beautiful-inner ones...so extra marks could definitely earned by keeping your outer-self as good as possible.

I forgot to write my Opinion. I feel that Inner qualities or appearance is more important then outer one coz outer appearance will get changed or spoiled after young age. It is the inner qualities which stays for lifetime but the outer appearance keeps changing. And also Most of Great and Successful People like Gandhiji, Abdul kalam, etc. were and are also of the same view " SIMPLE LIVING, HIGH THINKING".

though inner quality is the most important factor in a persons character, external appearance adds to it. It is not necessarily a person need to be as goodloooking or handsome like bollywood actors/actresses, but they atleast can be smart and neat in their external appearance and that is the key..!!

Inner appearance is no doubt very important. I think inner beauty counts for all virtues like kindness, helpfulness, loyalty, trustworthiness, etc. Thus, inner beauty counts for a long & healthy relationship provided

other person also have similar qualities.

At the time when we say inner appearance is important, it will not be fair enough to say that outward appearance is not important.
Outward appearance depicts our overall personality. Looking good, wearing tidy clothes, well combed [not necessarily wearing a Rayban gogs or an omega wrist watch] everything that we wear or do adds to our style or body language.
Remember, people look our outward appearance first and then inner. Example - During interviews, first thing a person notice is our body language and style.

Thus, both inner & outward appearance is important. However our outward appearance depends on our inward apperance.
