yes.PHD in Management is manadatory if you are looking at a career in academics.
Even otherwise,it will add value to you in a sense you get specialized in a specific area.

It depends on what career you wish to choose. If you want to pursue a career in academics then yes, it is. No way it is a must. Management is all about to know something and also use that in business. It is all about managing things efficiently and effectively as well.
