Deepak,I would like to present my thoughts on this
1)Creating a niche market is not that easy...unless and until we have a robust Research and Development sytem for our Indian companies..we cant grow innovatively
2)Innovation is synonymous with change and change shud be brought for a purpose..Who will govern that purpose? The customer ofcourse..which inturn implies, the IT shud be brought closer to the masses..Tapping of literate but IT illiterate masses and tapping of illiterate masses can sow seeds in this direction..companies shud strive in conducting such kinds of programs of IT education..this would help in identifying the market need as to where to pitch in innovation..what shud be developed?whats still lacking? These quesns can be answered only if efforts are put in this direction
3)Look at this perspective..an IIT gradate heads straight away to European countries..coz he is paid hell lot of money over there..The problem of "Brain
Drain"..If we stand to loose such potential graduates of such world class institutes, who will carry out the job of "innovation" here?Efforts shud also be put in this direction by companies who pay to these graduates good amount of perks and packages and then utilise them in this field
4)The ministry of IT shud take steps in this direction to integrate the entire system of Information Technology..viz integrating Scientific development with R&D of the companies..with the ministry itself..and then state it's mission and goal which shall be communicated to all the entities in this area..co-operation is reqd by the IT companies in this direction,so that all of them can work for one mission, one goal of developing India's IT industry and taking it to global standards...
