u have put up a valid question tanuja, one question which comes in the mind of every BMS student is that what option do i have after doing BMS? Well everybody knows that we could MBA/MMS which wouldnt be very hard as both the courses i.e BMS and MBA/MMS are very simmilar in content with BMS focussing more on theory while the later on practicality.
The other option that a BMS grad has is that he could work for a couple of years and then do a MBA because every Co. likes to hire a MBA grad with experience.......................so for a good pay packet work for a couple of years after competing your BMS and then go for your MBA/MMS.
Well this was my take on your MMS/MBA option..................if anybody has any other option please reply coz u know what they say 'KUSHI AUR GYAN BATNE SE BADTA HAI' :)))
So enjoy ur life and chill :???:

well u both r right but u seem to have forgotten the bid daddy of all exams the - CAT which is quite tough to crack and not many students can actually go through it. hey i m not discouraging ne one its worth givin a try. well some options that r available after BMS i feel r:
Export Import course
Customs
the very famous - Stock Market course
....the list is big
students comin in to BMS should keep their options open coz MBA is not the only thing after BMS.
Let know ur views. BYE 8)

BMS students dont have lot of choices after TY. also major problem is that inspite of BMS being so popular some companies prefer BCOM + MBA rather BMS + mBA may be becoz they have strong Accounts base. i think for students interested in planning n organising event mgmt is a good option after TY. one can opt for a PG diploma after TY from institutes like NIEM or EMDI. good thing abt this course is that it is part time, so u can pursue it with ur MBA. although the starting salary in the field of event mgmt is not very high (5000-10000), eventually after some time salary can increase to 20k to 30k.

hey guys a big hi to allof u

this is gooood work done here on the web

well i was confused too like wht after BMS :? i suggest work somewhere for a few years n then do ur distantce learning MBA , coz bms n MMS ahs no difference at all, no value addition untill u really want to add value to urself (i am a BMS +MMS graduate fulltime)
which depends on U n for which u dnt really need to join a B school,
yes a MBA TAG is in fashion now a days , well if u get thru top 5 colleges ur life is set if not take up a job n do distant MBA , dnt even waste time in part time, the TAG is all tht matters, u hv wasted lots of ur time in BMS n ur past education NOW its time to make sme mullah!

if u need guidance on distant edu , reply back i may b able 2 guide u!

till then TC ! NJOY LIFE!

Distance learning

hey sorry for replyin late!

wht i feel is ICFAI is a descent option for distance learning, thier course content i.e. the coverage and exam pattern, books, all r gd for a working person!

i regret why i did full time , seeems like a waste of time.its a tag at the end of it.

anyways now i am looking forward to doing a course in brand management or CRM and ICFAI is one of the options for distance learning.....rest all are institutes yaar which offer correspondance or part time , which really holds no value, atleast ICFAI is one of the top ten rank holders!

they are doing gd.

anyway revert back for more

Hi....

For Distance education even Symbiosis is Best. After all Symbi has a good brand

name in market.

As far as placement is concerned No one Guarantees for Distance Education, Bcoz they are more keen and interested in placing there regular students than Distance learning.

Hmm.. i suppose if d placements r not good for distance education .. then i dont see ne use of doing it.. as it is BMS studs study 80 % of what they study in MMS .

MBA just for d tag of it is a waste of time n money.. wht say ??

MBA a Yes Or a No????

Well the thing is we bms students are covering major part of what's in for us in MBA or MMS. But the tag is very important from the corporate point of view. When u looking from an HR's point of view having to select 1 from 2 Mba's 1 from Distant Education and 1 from Coll than believe Distance Education tends to take up a back step distance from where u standing. Even thoug the person would be having more knowledge than a coll grad but still tht TAG line counts. Its da same with BMS it doesnt have that much of a standing on corporates without an MBA..

Its not like that. Though we cover 70% of portion we are still Bachelors and in market Masters are move valuable than bachelors.

As far as 2 years is concerned i dont think its too much in front of our 15yrs education as this 2 yr will add all that what u did in 15yrs.

As far as money is concerned, yeh i thnk its a big deal as u never know what will be the outcome but lets hope ki whn u invested sooooo much in ur 15yrs education so by adding little for 2 yrs we get good return later.

Hope, Hope and hope as world is living on hopes :-?

Regards
Nihit.

Very true nihit, masters r more valuable in the market regardless of the fact that even bachelors are no less than the masters ..
I still think its wasting your time... if you can come up with some new venture or have some busines plans then I personally feel , that it wud b more benificial to give it a try before going for an MBA degree which has not much to offer to u after your BMS ...

Well hopes are all we live on ;)
