hey, the easiest route to become a CEO is to work somewhere for 4-5 years. Do an MBA if you feel you need more exposure.. still its not compulsory that only MBA can do a business.. ok.. Then start a business on your own. So now, you have become a CEO. Thats about it..
Of course you know that the CEO s are not hired publicly. It is an invite to a top person in one company to join an other organization.. None of us can become a CEO overnight m sure you would know that.. 15 years of "accomplishment" in the industry would "help" you out..
your "bank balance" matters even more if you are going for established companies because CEO s are always expected to hold a substancial amount of shares of the company.
Examples :
Narayanamurthy -- Ex.CEO, infosys -- Worked in Tata for few years.. started his own later
Bill Gates -- Ex.CEO, microsoft (harvard dropout) -- worked in IBM before starting microsoft
LakshmiNaryanan -- CEO, Cognizant -- Worked in Sathyam -- started his own business
