According to T.I.M.E. management classes, you should have read at least 70 books (inclusive of both fiction and non-fiction) by the time you appear for CAT.

They believe that by reading at least 70 books and some essential magazines and newspapers, verbal ability would be a breeze…

I believe it’s a correct approach as verbal ability is not something that u acquire overnight. Persistent reading is what makes verbal ability a highly scoring section that ultimately helps to jack up your overall percentile…

So, with this purpose in mind, this thread has been started for all ye bibliophiles…

List down the books that you have read and then rate it (out of 5 stars).
For e.g. If u have read a book titled ABC by an author XYZ, it should be listed down as follows:

1. ABC-XYZ ***

Also at the end of the list, you may mention the book that you are presently reading and a book that you wish to read in the future.

Also, this thread can be used to enquire about a particular book, others views on a particular book n other such things…
This would help yourself as well as others in wisely selecting books n then discussing about the same…

For anyone.. The Da Vinci is a must read.. the first few pages are dry.. but once the book gets going.. its " UNPUTDOWNABLE" in the words of Surmukund Doshi

Well, as far as the book BLINK is concerned, its one of the worst books I have ever read (Er, I have to admit I read the book just for the sake of completin it).

It speaks about the process behind snap judgements n how we can effectively build it n use it to our advantage...

The author keeps vacillating with his stories and analogies which confuses the reader.

The way Malcolm Gladwell presents it is dry n its definitely on my AVOID list...

Perception of the book differs from person to person...

Now I liked the first half of the books.. but then it got repetitive.. and dry in the second part...

I wouldnt say its a must read book.. but a good read though.

Id recommend The Kite runner.. its quite interesting.. i read the whole book in 1 night

Here are all 4 books by DAN BROWN...
Psst... There r talks goin on to make Angels and Demons into a movie...Steven Spielberg has been approached to direct it...

Also, as far as BLINK is concerned, the movie rights for the book has been acquired by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio n its gonna be made into a movie by 2007.
