What is an MOT test? - June 18th, 2013

M.O.T. Stands for Ministry Of Transport. This test is to keep any vehicles driven on the road in a roadworthy condition. The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. It isnít the same as having your vehicle serviced and doesnít check its general mechanical condition. In this a list of the parts of your vehicle will be tested.

This test is for the vehicles more than 3 years old and the vehicle must be

1) Properly maintained and;
2) At least once a year are examined at an authorized MOT test station to make sure that they comply with certain important requirements of the law

Remember- the test certificate relates only to the condition of the testable items at the time of the test and should not be regarded as evidence of their condition at any other time; nor should it be accepted as evidence of the general mechanical condition of the vehicle.
