I fell the aviation industry in INDIA is booming, but still i feel at we are at consumer level, its because we are in the field even before independence but still today we are not having out own civil aircraft not even a trainer one. This is really bad. if we keep on purchasing from abroad then simply we can always see the dollar rising more and more every day. This is also because of lack of govt interest in this sector. There is a need for pilots but there no adequate schools and cost of training is sky rocketing. Also its possible that every district in our country to have a small airport, for ex: every 150km can have a small airport like a bus station. people who can afford to travel like this can benefit, this can also be used for cargo as well. For this we can rely on small aircrafts. like this we can slowly develop.
To start with, we need to have enough flying schools. for ex: in a particular state for every district we can have a flying school and the cost of handling can also be kept low. If we have enough training schools then there will be pilots. naturally there will be a group of small scale industries trying to eye in to this big area. Anybody will enter in to a business as long as a return is assured at least a return in investment is guaranteed. Now we need cheaper aircrafts. once we have experience for 10years then we can approach our trusted friend SUKHOI of Russia, for a technical collaboration for their super jet100. We can market that jet in INDIA.
Now we let us assume that we have enough trainers and a site for the training school. now we need the equipment, AIRCRAFT
for all training school limits we need to have a propeller driven 2 seater aircraft, you can take a ideal PIPER or Cessna.
lets decompose it
1) Aircraft Frame - fuselage
2) Avionics - All instrument in cockpit including Garmin1000 display unit.
3) Engine - a radial engine, can be a 4 cylinder.
4) Interiors - an ejections seat, brake chute,
5) Controls - fuel system, APU, Control surfaces & landing gear
now let us assume that we have identified what needs to be done, A requirements for the specification for all systems have to be finalysed and every body should start working on their part. they can get assistance from educational institutions for research purposes. The total time frame for a flight model to test can be roughly fixed as 4-5years. there should be no intervention from govt and govt may allocate some tax cuts for those who successfully implemented something. govt can encourage private players to participate in this.
now we have to find the suppliers. To my knowledge, we can give the engine design to Hero Honda, because already HONDA of japan is having its HONDAJet aircraft and Honda has renewed its contract with Hero Honda of INDIA for another 10 years. So we can utilise this to design the engine. Now for avionics we can give it to PRICOL Coimbatore. To my knowledge they can do this without much difficulty. for engine fuel system we can give it to BHEL or BOSCH, Bangalore. Aircraft Structure we can give it to HAL, NAL or TVS. For Interiors we can give it to DC, Dilip Chabaria who is famous for automobile interiors. Everything should move as per schedule without diverting from the requirements and time keeping should be strict.
Now let us assume that the engineering model is tested and with modifications flight model is successfully tested. Now it has to be used in all training schools to test it in real time for any practical difficulties. After 2 years we can develop a 4seater one where 3+1 people can go in for training purpose. After some 3 years of strong crash less record. we can project for a 14seater model with twin propeller engine that can be used for cargo transport between districts. It can also be used in farm industry and during natural disasters like water spraying in a fire accident. Like this we can go for 50seaters too for passenger travel between cities. up to this we can use turbo props.
Now for higher models we can rely on jets, recently Russia unvieled SUKHOI superjet100 + already Russia is facing a crisis in it. SUKHOI is already having partners from abroad like Thales of France. Russia is a good friend to INDIA in terms of defense trade. we can use this opportunity to forge a good partnership with SUKHOI and we can market that jet in INDIA, simultaneously we can manufacture our own ones till we develop our own one.

Now i would like to know if we can try this? what are all changes to be done if any.
