Bipasha Basu, as sizzling as her Beedi number, was in town for the opening of "Vintage India", the exhibition of over 3,000 British lithographs, organised by the People for Animals (PFA).

She talked about her first love — not any actor but animals; and her favourite song — not any item number but the National Anthem. However, the Cristiano kiss met with silence.

What motivated you to become an animal-rights activist?

So many stray animals are treated cruelly and I want to make a difference. I try my level best to help animals if they are hurt or not well. In our everyday lives, we just forget to be sensitive. As a celebrity, I can influence people by talking about animal rights. Also, I am selfish, I like feeling happy and satisfied and this cause makes me feel so.
