Rang De basanti......reading the reviews, you'd think it's India's answer to the best of what Hollywood can throw.
Though personally, I believe it's just another run-of-the-mill movie.
The ideology of the protaganist(s) is completely unrealistic, and the film's ending makes it seem that violence is the solution to all problems.
Pretty average stuff.....even boring at times.
OK, so I'm being cynical.
But the movie surely doesn't merit the kind of hype it generated.

the movie according to me was damn great... it passed a very strong message in a very different tone.... but 1 thing that showed that being an extremist solves all problems may be true but not at every stage.. it shows they kill a minister, a father..... well why........ i thought to myself does thiese type of things happen welll nope... india needs to be awakened but not with force everytime...... start a movement .... the youth has the power to do anything if they get their hearts to it...... start ur own political party.... take an example of YUVA movie which very proper in my terms giving a very positive utlook to improve the country starting from the lowest level....
Overall well the movie receives a 5* rating from me because i myself am very patriotic and it touched one of the patriotism strings... it struck the right chord.. one more thing alice patterson (is the name right) or the fhirangee is gorgeous and knows how to act atleast rather our indian actresses Diya mirza and Amisha Patel.... hehehe

Well I can say I'm patriotic myself, but not in the usual hackneyed sense.
I mean, come on, the second half is completely unrealistic hogwash.
And watch it dude, don't say anything against Diya Mirza......fine, she can't act, but she's drop-dead gorgeous!! :-)

Well it is not something that is impossible.. but that is the extreme.. well killing the minister like that lol... quite extreme solution... as i said earlier am just touched my the emotional melodrama that was perfectly executed with such an ease... the acting by all these guys at the end at the Radio tower was damn good.. taking all things lightly and not giving a damn..

Well you guys have seriously lost it.
I've happened to have seen Diya Mirza without make-up, and she looks even more beautiful than she does on-screen, if that's possible.
A few days back a tabloid (Mumbai Mirror ot HT Style, can't remember which one) carried pics of a few actresses without make-up.......and they look "YUCK!!" without the warpaint. It included Bips, Amrita Arora, Rani Mukherjee et al.
And for those raving about Ash's beauty......well does anyone remember seeing her at an awards function a few years back, when she nursed a broken arm. She was looking aneamic, and ugly.......and I'm being mild here.
