HI everybody
i am an mba student in my 1st yr
i have organized an
8'BALL KNOCK OUT COMPETITION @ RENAISSANCE CLUB {JUHU mumbai}
ON 3RD AUGUST
since its my 1st event i am not to sure of things i would be happy if someone gives his idea opinion on this

its an INTER COLLEGE event so will be having open invitation for all MBA colleges only
and we have limited time can say about 8hrs and one game of 8 balls requires about 6-8 mins
from my college itself i am accepting about 60+ entries{thats minimum} and cant think off other's yet {other colleges}

my problems is how to take care if had real huge number of players
should we keep an entry fee to restrict some if yes then how much as to have respectable players

its clear we can have only a limited number of players may be 100--120
can some help out with this
and yes there are 1st and 2nd prizes could go as high as 3000-5000 depends

Hi nitin,
such an arrangement will require considerable amount of planning. What is the arrangement that will be provided and how many tables will u keeping there.

Depending on this arrangement future course of events can be decided.

well we have only 2 tables and for the other arrangements will be taken care off by the club and so on........i mean the sitting arr.....and we are not to sure about the sound system yet may the club provide or we can outsource depends upon the sponcers .....we are looking for sponcers ............

Dear Nitin,
You've already done the necessary arithmetic to find out how many people will you be able to accommodate.

So say if there are 12 players, 1 competes with 2, 3 with 4 and the winners of these matches, compete with each other.

I think it will be better to divide these 120 people into 4-5 groups, depending upon the amount of seating and the available space there. Since there are 2 tables only, hence games need to go continuous for these 8-10 hours.

These division of these 4-5 groups should be further made such that each team winner can get adequate time in between the matches. Again, if the space available is not enough, then u would have to think of calling few groups later in the day.

List out the groups and arrange them in such a way that u know who will be competing against whom and arrange the subsequent matches accordingly. Make sure there is sufficient time gap between 2 matches for the winners of each round (bcoz the person winning the 1st prize will be playing the maximum number of matches)

You might also have to arrange other things like lighting, snacks, etc and hence, see that the game goes non stop even when people are taking breaks.

this is wonderful just yesterday when are group was into discussion about this
we have finalize
to have max no. 80 players
divided in to 4 groups
20 each in a group
all groups would be invited at diff times
so only the winner has to wait till the end and who even looses can leave
and snacks is provided by the club against money by individuals

now the concern is 80 ppl inter college event 35 colleges so we are planning to invited at least 5 colleges personally and contact the others somehow through a word of mouth / advertising etc
so now we want the entries to be kept in such a way that the persons is not hurt to pay and we don't have unlimited number of entries
so now its confirm its limited entries for participates 80
how much do u think ppl would not find to play for so and so amout and we have prize also
