Monk Mantras - March 12th, 2007

I read the fable "Monk who sold his Ferarri" by Robin Sharma.This is a very good book to study.The principles said in this book can be applied in everyday life.

Some of the best principles from the book.

1.Ritual of solitude:
=============
People can spend atleast 10-15 mins a day in meditation.This can be practised anywhere and better to be in nature.The silence would act as a refresher for mind,body and soul which would act faster after the rest.

2.Ritual of physicality:
===============
Spent atleast 10 mins in your everyday life with nature.It can be as simple as a walk through mountains or thorough any green surroundings.This will give you good breathing.Most of us breathe to thrive.Breathe deeply for 5 times a day.Breathing deeply is to breathe from Abdomen.

3.Ritual of Live Nourishment:
====================
Stop taking junk food and start taking 'Live Foods'.Live foods are fodds that aren't dead.They are fruits,salads that are fresh and are good to consume.By restricting the diet a person can live healthy for ever.

4.Ritual of Abundant knowledge:
=======================
Read atleast 1 hr a day.Some books have to be read,some have to be chewd,some have to be studied.Reading good books will enrich one's knowledge.

5.Ritual of Personal Reflection:
======================
Take a few moments of your day to analyse the happenings of tht day ,let it be good or bad.This would allow you to correct yourself.You can't be good tomorrow if you can't identify the mistakes today.

6.Ritual of Early awakening:
===================
The best idea to start a day is to wake-up with the sun.10 minutes before and after wake-up are crucial for the day.So have a peaceful mind before goin g to bed and think positively after coming out of bed.

7.Ritual of Music:
===========
Try to listen to Music atleast 10 mins everyday.Music is a very good motivator.It shoulders your sorrow sometimes.

8.Ritual of Spoken word:
=================
Have a series of Mantra and recite the songs everyday.So reciting mantra would free your mind.Reciting mantra would get-over the self-imageof oneself.The mantra could be as simple as "I will become good man one day".Repeating the mantra would be very useful to form image of the same.

9.Ritual of Congruent character:
=======================
Build your character is a good way.Strenghting your character affects the way you see yourself and the actions you take.Finally,what you see is what you get.

10.Ritual of Simplicity:
===============
The best way to eternal happiness is to lead a simple life.The key is not to make your happiness contigent on a pack of gold.

Some more

1.Please don't waste time.Have the courage to say NO to little things in life will give you the power to say YES to big things .Don't be prisoner of the past and be an architect of your future.

2.What lies behind you and what lies in front of you is nothing when compared to what lies inside you.

Methods of self-improvement:
=============================
1.visualise mental picture of outcome.
2.Apply "Positive pressure" to it.
3.Set a dealine to every goal and commit it to a paper.
4.Convert it into a behaviour by practising.
