Hello, everybody.
I want to do MBA, but not sure which course to select. I am 34 years old, have 6 years work experience, my qualifications are sufficient for any MBA course. I short-listed schools (I want to study in the UK because it should be easier for me personally to get a loan there), but it is just too many of them, I need to reduce the list again:
1.	Cass Business School
2.	Oxford Said
3.	London Business School
4.	Cambridge Judge
5.	Cranfield Business School
6.	Bath Business School
7.	Manchester Business School
8.	Lancaster University Management School,
9.	Aston Business School,
10.	Ashridge Business School
11.	Henley Business School at the University of Reading
12.	Birmingham, University of--Birmingham Business School
13.	Nottingham University Business School
14.	Bradford University School of Management
15.	Imperial College Business School
16.	Warwick Business School
I was on recent London MBA Fair and met a lot of these business schools, but it is difficult to differentiate between them, they are all good. The differences I can see are only the following:
1. Some courses last 12 months, some longer;
2. Tuition fees differ considerably;
3. Average age of students on full-time MBA varies – LBS has average age of 27, while Ashridge around 35;
4. Number of full-time students – Henley and Ashridge are one of the smallest full-time MBA programs, while LBS is one of the largest.
I wonder if I should really pay much attention to the average age of students on MBA courses. I suspect the schools with average age closer to mine will cater their course so that the learning style fitted best to students of my age and then the Careers centre will be more suitable for people of my age – I was told on MBA Fair that it was much easier for a 25 year old MBA graduate to find a job than for a 36 years old simply because of age.
What is your opinion on this? Should I drop off some schools from my list if they don’t fit my age?
Thanks,
