Ashford University

Ashford University is a private, coeducational liberal arts university located in Clinton, Iowa. The University offers Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees through its campus in Clinton and online through its Center for External Studies. The school is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Ashford ground campus is located in the central part of Clinton, Iowa. Seated atop a hill, the 24 acre (98,000 m²) campus is about a half-mile from the Mississippi River and about a mile north of Highway 30. The most notable building on campus is St. Clare Hall, which has served as the Mount St. Clare Convent, Novitiate, Academy, and College. Today, the lower floors in St. Clare Hall house administrative and support staff, while the upper floors contain classrooms. The newest building on campus is the Durgin Educational Center, which houses Kehl Arena, the athletics department, and the animation lab.

Your classes will focus on topics that are important in today's workplace, such as communications, management, marketing and computer literacy. You'll find this degree will form the foundation of a Bachelor's degree should you choose to continue with your education.

Admission Requirements

* Have a regular high-school diploma earned through college preparatory or regular high school courses or GED equivalency recognized by the Department of Education of the state in which it was earned, completed secondary school through home schooling as defined by state law, or earned an equivalent to a US high school diploma at an international high school. An earned IEP or Special Education Diploma or Certificate of Completion based upon IEP goals does not meet the regular high school diploma requirement for admission to Ashford University. Qualified applicants will self-certify as to their high school education on the application for admission. Ashford University may also require, at its discretion, that an applicant or student provide a high school transcript, high school diploma, and/or evidence of passing the GED. If no high school degree was earned, applicants may be admitted with a minimum of 60 transferable credits from an appropriately accredited postsecondary institution as defined by Ashford University transfer credit policies.
* Technology capabilities (minimally, students must have a computer with the following features and system configurations: Platforms: Mac OS X 10.2 or greater or Windows 2000, NT, or XP or greater; Hardware: 256 Mb RAM, CD-ROM, and 1 Gb free disk space; Productivity Software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; Web Browser: Firefox, Netscape 6 or greater, Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater, Safari, or Opera; Networking: 56k dialup modem, DSL, or cable modem; and Email: Outlook, Outlook Express, Mac Mail, Eudora, Entourage, or Yahoo/Hotmail/Google mail.)
* The following additional platform and hardware requirements apply when using ebooks: Platforms: Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, Windows XP with service pack 2 or higher, or Vista; Hardware: 512 Mb RAM, CD-ROM, 1 gHz processor, and 1 Gb free disk space; 1024x768 screen resolution or larger.
