PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I have worked in Clariant India for 5 month as management training during my Final C.A Articleship. It was a very enjoyable experience for me as I got to learn a lot & it changed my entire perception.

I was working under V.Samuels the head of Business Control & he was a very strict & demanding person. It was a pleasure working under him as I learned a lot. I was looking after the expense schedule, commission analysis, collection analysis & constant contact with the distributors regarding returns of goods.

The office located at Worli is very bright & sophisticated. Each one has a open cabin with computer & telephone access. Some do have access to printers & internet facility also.

The middle level management is young 25-35 years either C.A OR M.B.A or Engineers. Every one has a good pay the figure of which is secret as each one is given special envelopes so the salary of the other person cannot be found out.

Each business unit heads is given full freedom with respect to decision making & there is a flat organisation structure with not very higher levels of hierarchy. Each middle level managers have different duties but there is no hierarchy in them. All do their own work taking printouts or Xerox.

They celebrate a number of festivals & have get togethers very frequently. There is great team unity between all managers at all levels as they all work to achieve company goals.

When there is a fresh recruitment there is an induction programme which lasts for 7 days, whereby he is introduced to managers at all levels of all business units. He is also taken to the factory at kolshet to introduce to the staff out there. Each person explains to the new recruit his business activites & how they are correlated with the others.

The company conducts a number of seminars & it sends it’s employees at various seminars & educational centers to sharpen their skills & the cost is borne by the company. All these activites lead to constant updation of our skills.

There is high growth potential for the company & it has excellent relationship with the distributors. Employees, customers, suppliers & shareholders & this will help the company to grow & prosper. It is an excellent organisation to work & learn from.
