RPL project like its shares ahead of time

For a company whose share prices have sky rocketed even before production began, project implementation may seem to be secondary. But Reliance Petroleum Limited (RPL) has successfully completed 82% overall progress of its refinery complex in just 24 months.

Located at Special Economic Zone at Jamnagar, the greenfield petroleum refinery and polypropylene plant is heading for an early finish ahead of its initial schedule of December 2008. In a press release, RPL said that the overall procurement progress exceeded 97%, deliveries of over dimensional cargos (ODC) and super ODCs are nearing completion and sufficient site infrastructure mobilised to sustain equipment installation and fabrication activities on the fast track. This involves over over 7,500 engineers, working from several interconnected locations across the world.

The project with an annual crude processing capacity of 580,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD), RPL will be the sixth largest refinery in the world.
