The Workshop is designed to answer the following key questions:
• What it is to be an entrepreneur today? What is entrepreneurship? What are the driving forces behind it? How to be a successful entrepreneur? What are critical to the success of the start-up and survival of an entrepreneurial venture?
• How do you transition from a “good idea” from a “good start up ” to a great company ? How do you define a “good idea ” for you?
• How to set up a good , successful, well functioning management teams for their new ventures?
• What about the sources of funding? How to identify them, assess their importance to the particular ventures, and then obtain the necessary commitment of these resources?
• What types of financing are available to the entrepreneur – debt, equity, etc? How do successful entrepreneurs obtain this financing and how do they negotiate and structure the deals?
• What about the legal and contractual aspects of deal structuring, employment and investment agreements, vesting schedules, non-compete and proprietary rights agreements?
• What strategies and tactics are possible for those who aspire to an entrepreneurial career? What constitutes "entrepreneurial success"? What is a game plan?
• How to write a good business plan? The biz plan basics, element of a good biz plan, examples and templates?
• What is the future of management? Are new rule being written /rewritten in the new economy?
Instructor: Prof. Nandini Vaidyanathan
Brief Bio of the Instructor:
Professor Nandini Vaidyanathan, an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics and London School of Economics, spent 20 years in the corporate sector with MNC’S all over the world. She has worked in a cross-section of industries, ranging from security, media, pharma, gas, office automation, equity market and animation. She is India’s leading strategist in crisis management and has been associated with corporations and governments in sensitive negotiations and settlements. She is also one of the original proponents of outsourcing, having set up call centres, nearly thirteen years ago for a TNC in UK (British Gas). She has been teaching Entrepreneurship and International Biz at premier Business schools in India, US , and UK such as IIM-B, Princeton, and London School of Economics, for the last three years. She is Mentor-Promoter of a company called Startups (forstartups.blogspot.com) which mentors young entrepreneurs with management inputs such as structuring capital, incorporating the company, acquisitions, sources for funding, marketing and biz strategy, scalability, global expansion, etc.
