CRESITA ’09 – BIM’S ANNUAL MANAGEMENT SYMPOSIUM

Crescita is the flagship management event conducted by Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy. This ISO 9001-2000 certified event is a top-class business conclave that brings together the brightest ideas and people from across the country. Crescita, meaning “growth” in Italian, was born as a students’ initiative in 2005. It focuses on a contemporary management theme every year and in this context, issues ranging from CSR, corporate growth management and the rise of India in the Asian and World economy have been discussed.

The theme for Crescita ’09 is “*********”. Through this, it takes a closer look on how to sustain the momentum of growth, how to insulate India efficiently from future global economic downturns and finally how to realize the dream of India becoming the world's next super power.

Crescita ‘09 seeks to bring out ideas for tackling challenges by changing the policy mix in order to achieve inclusive & exponential growth. It would also draw lessons from the current global scenario for pre-emptive risk management and control.

The three-day symposium includes the B-plan competition “Alectrona”, a strategic management simulation game “Parakrama”, equity research contest “Buffet’s pick”, corporate quiz “BIMQuest”, an online treasure hunt “Encrypto”, a stock market event “Bulls ‘N’ Bears” and an online open-to-all quiz “Pradhii Yudh”.

These events will see students from premier B-Schools and corporates battling it out for more that RS********** worth of prizes that’s at stake. The students of BIM too, as they deserve to be, are very excited and upbeat about the events.

Crescita has been attracting eminent guest speakers ever since its inception. This year is no exception to that. The Executive Director of Cavin Care, Mr Ramesh Viswanath, the Director General of FICCI Mr. Atin Sen, ICICI General Manager (Private Banking) Mr I.A.S Balamurugan and US Consulate American Officer Ms. Rebecca Ann Seweryn are the few of the guests who will grace the occasion.
